How to make a Gradient Background
By Don D and Alfred and Mick
Hi Gary
Is that the sort of gradient you are after.
Attached are 3 sizes I made up for different length pages, I used the longest for the page I attached.
You will have to make up different master pages of different lengths for these to fit on. Don't extend the pages longer than the length of the background file or it will start to tile downwards on the page as well as across.
On the background tab untick use scheme manager settings and tick use picture and use the .jpeg I made up.
Don't forget to put the white filled html text box over your page to use as the page.
Note - jpg's are 2 x 2300pix, 2 x 1500 & 2 x 1000 they get tiled across the page.
Need anymore help let me know by email or on forum

From your description, it sounds as though you've already gone to the Background tab in the Master Page Properties dialog and unticked the 'Use Scheme Manager settings' checkbox so that you can customize the settings. Click the Background Colour swatch and then choose 'More Colours...' and select the colour you want (using an RGB Hex value of #99CC33 for the shade of green on the bodyprojects site). Click 'OK' to close the Colour Selector dialog and the tick the 'Use picture' checkbox to bring up the Import Picture dialog so you can browse to the image you want to use. Click 'Open' to import the selected image, and then click 'OK' to close the Master Page Properties dialog.
To change the tiling properties for the background image, right-click the page and choose 'Attach HTML' (or in your case, go back to the home page, right-click and choose 'Attach HTML'!) and scroll down to the <body...>
tag. Scroll to the right, select the text /*Master Page Body Style*/ and replace it with background-repeat:repeat-x;
Don't be put off by the fact that your background image appears tiled when you return to Design View; this happens because it doesn't "see" the 'background-repeat' setting. It will look as intended when you preview or publish the site
