How to Upload a pdf (or any other file).

 

 

A pdf is a file like any other.  Except that on the web, when a visitor clicks on a pdf link in your site, the free Acrobat Reader will open to display the pdf file. There are other pdf readers.

 

How to hyperlink the pdf.

Type a word or phrase. Highlight it, right click and select HYPERLINK.  

 

In WP 10, in Create a Hyperlink to, select ‘A File on your Hard Disk’. Then, BROWSE to the pdf and make your other preferences. Click OK.

 

In WP X2, in the left pane, select FILE. In Hyperlink Information, BROWSE to the pdf or other file you want included in your website. Make your choices in the other options. Click on OK. The pdf will upload right along with your website.

 

 

To hyperlink a pdf to a graphic, create a HOTSPOT.

 

Insert > Hotspot.

 

The hyperlink dialog box will appear. Make your selection as above.

 

You will then see a square frame on the workspace. Position, adjust shape and resize it over your chosen graphic for the pdf. Select both, GROUP and LOCK. The hotspot frame MUST be on top of the graphic.
